History

The Range Cafe was founded in September 1992 by two men with a dream...two men that were really sick of working for other people and that really liked breakfast.     Meeting in 1991 Matt DiGregory and Tommy Fenton discovered their passions together while working at Scalo in Albuquerque and then the Prairie Star in Bernalillo. The two young minds soon began to share their dreams of someday getting out from under 'The Man' and striking out on their own, footloose and fancy free.      Much to everyone's dismay the two opened The Range Cafe with much fanfare and merrymaking and started the roller coaster ride they would soon call their life.      May 8th, 1995 a fire started, and just as rapidly as Matt and Tom's fame had begun, it went up in smoke. The boys and their remaining faithful staff set up shop down the street in the old convent building. Very few details are known about this period of time besides the fact that their sporadic schedule (due to an existing catering business in the building) caused business to wane substantially. Somehow they made it through that rough time with many thanks to their loyal customers.     On December 4, 1996 The Range re-opened in Rose Silva's building. It has come to be very popular with all of its north valley clientel.     Now The Range has opened a new chapter with the opening of a second branch in Albuquerque....
