Upon entering the dining room of Pizzeria Espiritu many diners are reminded of a favorite restaurant they once frequented in New York, San Francisco or even Milan. The intimate space is decorated with pleasing colors and a fountain. Overhead, stretches a fourteen foot original oil painting based on Michelangelo's Creation.  From the kitchen comes the unmistakable aroma of garlic and onion soffritto inviting you to enjoy a selection of Italian delights. Chef and co-owner Tom Berke's sauce creations were inspired by old world recipes learned from a pair of Italian immigrants in Chicago with whom he worked in the 1960's. Traditional marinara and Bolognese sauces may be found on the menu along with a velvety mushroom cream sauce to toss with age old Margherita and a low fat light pizza. Espiritu's style and food will surely intrigue and satisfy you. |
